International Conference Engaging Boys in Education - 7th and 8th June 2011 Crieff, Perthshire, Scotland.

The conference includes speakers from the UK and Scandinavia. It is led by Claire Warden with Kenny Spence from Men in Childcare, Scotland; Anders Farstad from Norway; Troels Romby Larsen Senior lecturer, University College Lillebaelt, Denmark; Professor Leif Christensen and Christopher Campion, Deputy Head from Cruckton Hall School, Shropshire, UK.

There will be a Welcome Reception on Monday 6th June 2011 at 6pm and then the main event will open on Tuesday 7th June at 9am for two days. This will take place at the Crieff Hydro Hotel in Perthshire.

Re-imagining Childhood Care & Education International conference
November 19, 2011, City West Hotel Dublin

The Conference will be of interest to all parties in the early years care & education sector. The conference will coincide with International Children’s Day and International Men’s Day.

Contributions from abroad will highlight how men have been facilitated to
play important roles in the lives of young children in Norway. Another
presentation will confront the vital issue of child protection, and highlight
the need for effective screening of childcare candidates across Europe and
throughout the world. Research from within Ireland will focus on the
awareness and perception of the childcare sector towards males working
in this career.

The Conference will focus on the value of, and highlight the positive contribution that, men can make to childcare, in the context of the tremendous value that quality childhood care & education offers to children and their families.
